Rib Injury
About few days back I fell down and hit my chest on a sharp table. That moment I had severe pain in chest in ribs right side under breast. After few minutes I was normal. But soon I developed pain again and I m not able to lie down in bed and turn side at night while sleep as sharp pain in ribs..I had CT scan and it showed all things normal. Ortho has prescribe only anti inflammatory medicine and says it will heal on its own. Please advise if I need something else to treat this severe pain

If CT scan is normal, then it rules out any rib fracture. But pain may be due to injury to muscles in between the ribs( intercostal muscles). They ll heal on their own but will take some time. Along with pain killer, muscle relaxant may help in reducing pain. Avoid sleeping on affected side.
