How long is it good to do retinal detachment surgery? Can surgery be corrected? Does it have any other harm to the eyes?

It should be done as soon as possible especially if the macula is attached. The surgery is sight saving and does not directly affect the other eye. However the other eye is always screened for ruling out pre disposing factors such as different types of retinal degeneration.
