Replacing rice and wheat with millets
Is it safe to have millets only replacing rice and wheat? Are there any side effects with it? My son (12 years old) is autistic. He is having only millets 3 times a day. No rice and wheat. Will it cause any problem? I am also following the same diet, but I do eat rice and wheat sometimes. Some people said that they lost too much weight after switching to millets and energy levels have come down. I want to know if this diet is safe for adults and children. TIA.

Pls let me know one thing first of all who has recommended to give only millets rather than rice and wheat, any expert or doctor's suggestion have u taken prior to giving millets in diet of him. Yes millets has so many health benifits but one should follow a healthy balanced diet which should contain not only healthy carbs but also proteins, good fats, fiber along with essential vitamins n minerals rich foods.in case of autism,as much as possible try to avoid eating of highly salty or sugary junk foods or fast foods or packaged foods.in case of yours if u want to maintain a healthy body then kindly follow a healthy lifestyle routine including not only healthy dietary pattern but also exercise, stress  management, adequate sleep in night n proper water intake.

Everything should be balanced. Millets are rich in fibre. Because of this your hunger level will be reduced. So, it helps to reduce weight. If you are a sedentary worker. You may face digestive problems after consuming more than required quantity of millets. You can consume rice, dhal, sprouts, fruits, milk, all kind of whole grains and millets. One time millet consumption is fine. You can take these kinds of foods : phulka, dhaliya khichdi, Rice and sprouts khichdi, pulse idli etc..
