Regarding insomnia after heart surgery

Asked for Female, 59 Years

My father had heart surgery last year and from then he is insomniac. He only sleep after having sleeping pills and I really don't want him to be dependent on them. Is there any cure to this? I am confused on whom to consult..please guide
