Regarding Fibroscan
" I have been on Saroglitazar for a year. My doctor advised me to stop taking it three months before the fibroscan test, but I took it for two extra months. I have only been off the medication for one month. I have an appointment coming up. Should I cancel it? I want to know the real state of my liver and the actual scar tissue present.

Hi Sir, Saroglitazar improves liver stiffness measures by normalisation of ALT. Current guidance does not recommend stopping treatment for the purpose of FibroScan. It is better to get the test done once ALT has normalised to avoid a falsely high LSM value.
