Regarding febrile seizures
Hi My 16 month old son got very high fever and had febrile seizure which lasted for some seconds. But, he had lost his conciousness. He regained his conciousness when we put some water on his face. This all happened within 5 minutes. Now we have to give him IPV  and JE2 vaccination scheduled few days later. Will these cause any issue if given just few days after febrile seizure? And how to prevent future febrile seizures? Please suggest. Thanks

I think the child has febrile seizure before also. If so then child needs investigation like EEG. Whenever there is fever, then give paracetamol as prescribed dose. Start tab frisium as early as possible to avoid seizure episodes. In case of seizure, turn the child to left side position, open the buttons of the shirt and allow the child some air by keeping proper ventilation like opening the windows. Watch the clock, if the seizures continue for more than 1 minute then rush to the hospital. Always take a consult if the child has an episode of seizure. Take your vaccination in next week, not in few days.

Only way to prevent febrile seizures is to give pcm and do sponging whenever child gets fever so that fever doesn't become high grade
