Regarding eating rice
My mother (67 years old) has diabetes since last 1 year. Usually for diabetics, rice is not allowed. So she usually eats chapati. However, whenever she eats chapatis, she gets hungry at unusual times, has severe constipation and is unable to sleep at night. Is it fine for her to eat smaller portions of rice everyday? Or can she eat little rice and a couple of chapatis? Please advise.

She can eat small portions of rice 1/2 katori, for meal of the day, preferably lunch. Also can substitute white for brown rice to reduce sugar content. And eat 2 rotis if she is eating rice
