Hello Arthritis is an inflammatory condition of joints. It's degeration of joint spaces if age related. There are many causes for it to happen. 1.symptoms- pain in joints, swelling, raised temperature of that part of skin, often redness is noticed. If it's a long time passed there may be cripitus sound in joints. 2.Yes all arthritis starts with swelling. 3.Not all back or ankle pain is because of arthritis. But all arthritis is associated with pain. There could be many reasons for more back pain or ankle pain. 4.Can't exactly tell how many days it will take to observe swelling , it depends on individual conditions. Suggested is to consult your Physiotherapist. 4.A detailed examination n assessment by experts is always adviceable before planning any treatment.

Arthritis is nothing but joint inflammation. There are different causative factors. Not all ankle pain and back pain need to be arthritis.
