Red marks on the back side of lower leg

Today morning, my son suddenly had big red marks on the backside of his both lower leg. He's not having any idea of how they suddenly appear. When he came back from his office, he feels burning sensation over those area and in evening he found some small blisters in that area. Looking for a quick suggestions.
