Hello my father is complaining of loose motions that come and go on its own since 3 months and recently we went for stool test that shows presence of rbcs and bacteria in stool. We also noticed weight loss. I am worried please advise me what can be the diagnosis and things that we can do to treat the same.

Loose motions with occult blood in stool may be due to infections like worms protozoal, bacterial INFECTIONS or colonic growths(tumors). Other Inflammatory causes are also possible. Appropriate tests may be needed based on your detailed history. Like colonoscopy, CONTRAST CT SCAN BLOOD TESTS ETC.
Next Steps
a course of antibiotics and other MEDICATIONS should be started for now.
