  4. Rectal bleeding. Doctor to treat this?

My husband is suffering from rectal bleeding, this problem occurs once in a month or so....he will be having stomach upset, like gas formation in the stomach and next day he will having bleeding before stool comes out.....he will also have a back abdominal pain. my question - please advise who will the best doctor to treat this?

This bleeding is most likely due to piles or fissure. other causes, though possible are less likely. u should go to a general surgeon first for bleeding. if he says both these things are not there, u would need a endoscopic test , which would be done by a gastroenterologist. for other symptoms gastroenterologist is the best person
