It's understandable that everyone brings their past experiences into a relationship, and concerns about ex-partners can sometimes arise. Open communication is key, but repeatedly seeking reassurance might indicate an underlying issue. Healthy relationships thrive on trust and understanding. Consider reflecting on the reasons behind these repetitive questions. Are there specific insecurities or fears you're dealing with? If these concerns persist and start affecting the relationship, seeking the guidance of a therapist could be beneficial. Therapy offers a safe space to explore and address any underlying issues, helping you build a healthier, more secure relationship.

Your partner has a past and if she is uncomfortable to talk about it and you are uncomfortable to hear about it, then it is best to let it be. Asking details of a past relationship won’t make the present one more stronger. It just plays in your mind, as something to outdo or set a standard. And, the (at times, unhealthy) pattern in the relationship persists.
