Hi everyone, on 24 June 2019 (9 months ago), I was severely bitten by a rat in finger. Immediately I went to a private hospital where I was given a TT and started the Anti Rabies Vaccine schedule for 0,3,7,14 and 28 days. But all the injections were made in the Gluteal region, in the buttocks. Again on 13 Feb 2020 (2 days ago), in Chennai, a flying bat hit me on my head while I was riding the bike. Thankfully, I was wearing a helmet (full size covering jaw) but with the glass open. The bat only hit my helmet near my jaw and I couldn't feel it touching my skin or neck. I again went to a private hospital where I was given a TT and suggested to take 2 shots of Anti Rabies Vaccine on day 0 and 3 as I already completed my regular ARV. Again the Vaccine was injected in my buttocks as they did last time. I just came to know that WHO recommendation says that ARV given in the buttocks is almost ineffective. Now I'm bit worried, please advice me on what to do next.
Thanks in advance.
