Rabies injection site question
Hello Doctors,
Please find the attached image of my injection site. I marked it. Medical staff gave me intradermal injection there.
1. Is this the right place for vaccination? Or it should be above the marking point?
The vaccine will be effective or not ?? Anything need to worry about??
Please answer doctor!
2. Also little blood and vaccine came out while gave the vaccine!! Is it ok or need to worry?
3. How many days it will take the puncture site to close??
4. Does 3month protection rule also valid for Rabies booster dose or only for 4 dose pep??

Intradermal is given in outer surface of the arm. It can be little above or little below that's fine because injection is only given in the skin not in muscle. And yes sometimes we may get little bleeding from cutaneous vessels like capillaries. No need to worry

Yes, the marked upper outer arm (deltoid skin) is the correct site for an intradermal rabies vaccine, and a small amount of blood or vaccine leaking out is common and does not reduce its effectiveness; the puncture mark usually heals within 2–3 days, the vaccine will still work fully as intended, and the 3-month rule (needing only two booster doses if re-exposed) applies after completing the full PEP schedule, including with the intradermal regimen. Since I am a veterinarian, it is still advisable to consult a physician, and the final decision should be taken by the treating doctor.
