Sir, if a dog strikes my bike while I am driving the bike with my 4 year old son sitting on the bike, then should I vaccinate my son for Anti Rabies Vaccine as he has some wounds on his leg and the dogs face might have come in contact(not sure) with my son's wound???? can the rabies virus remain infectious in the saliva which might be there on dog's face due to self Licking of the dog???? or we should think about vaccination only when there is direct lick of the dog to any human wound???? I am confused.

You should consult a General Physician in your area for a physical examination of your child and yourself. Let him decide whether your child needs Anti-Rabies vaccine or not.
