Question for Dr S K wadhwa
Sir, As i see on your profile that You have 44 years of experience. I want to ask that have you seen any cases like me who had Toxoplasma IgG positive and IgM negative in early pregnancy and had a healthy baby without any treatment with no abnormalities after birth. I am very scared if i discontinue medicines and Something wrong happens?

That's the way it should be. IgG shows an old infection (which might have been completely treated by now). But antibodies to Toxoplasma will be present in the circulation and IgG test will be positive. On the other hand IgM shows a recent infection which still exists.  It needs treatment. Once it is cured, IgM will become negative but IgG (which shows an old infection) will become positive and remain positive for many years. So the patients with only IgG positive (but IgM negative) will have normal healthy babies. For any further information please consult with me on Practo.
