My doctor has prescribed me Nifty SR as he is saying that this medicine is used in the treatment of bacteria of typhoid. From the internet I came to know that this medicine is used only for the treatment of UTI and is not a broad spectrum antibiotic. My doctor states that typhoid can also be detected in urine after a certain period and thus there is a link in between the treatment of typhoid to that of the medicine Nitrofurantoin which is used in the treatment of UTI.
Is this a genuine explanation ?
