Query About Widal Test( Rapid Slide test
I have been suffering from fever from last five days and two days before getting fever my stool becomes semi solid. As fever was not cured after 4 days from getting fever I go for a widal test (Rapid Slide test, Beacon). And following test result. SS.Typhi"O" : Positive upto 1:160 dilutions S.typhi "H" : Positive upto 1:160 dilutions S.paratyphi "A(H)" : Negative in all dilution S.paratyphi"B(H)" : Negative in all dilution My question is fever is due to typhoid ??? Other results normal.

Good day to you sir Firstly I should say that widal test is always done on the 7th day of fever. Doing it before may not always give a satisfactory result. Looking at the titres of your test, it will be considered a positive test. You will have to be started on antibiotics for the same. Kindly consult local physician for the same
