Query about blood test of MMR antibody
I am going abroad for studying so the university has asked for a proof of vaccine MMR(Measles Mumps Rubela). If not then its antibody test. So my question is which antibody test can be done for it. As I searched there are antibody test for all three seperately but two methods are there IGG and IGM. So I wanted to know which one should be done for my case requirement.

Go for IgG. It measures long term immunity, which is the one which is obtained after vaccination. IgM is short term which is more useful for diagnosis of a recent infection. Also, get all the three done separately. ie Measles, Mumps, Rubella

Presence of IgM antibodies indicate that you are actively having the infection. Where as presence of IgG indicate that either you have been infected in past or you have been immunized prior for the infection. So you need to do IgG antibody test.
