Psoriasis in hair
I get dandruff on my hair. I have consulted many doctors. Took medicines and ointments. But no solution. According to them, there is no solution. This is very irritating. I sometimes get blood on the hair/scalp as well. How should I make sure my scalp is healthy and I don't get dandruff? I require in depth reason, symptoms and solutions for the same. Thank You.

Thanks for the query. Psoriasis can be reasonably treated well and you can definitely live a normal life where psoriasis will not affect the quality of life. Psoriasis is a immune system mediated skin disease which can be brought into remission by certain medications and life style changes. Now its believed to be a multi-system disorder involving joints, hearts and kidneys as well. A proper assessment to determine the severity of psoriasis is needed. Most of the times active drugs are in form of shampoos for scalp psoriasis. You should apply atleast twice a week, the frequency may be different depending on severity of the skin condition. After application, keep on the scalp for atleast five minutes. this contact time is needed for the medicine in the shampoos to act. Rinse the scalp thereafter. Most of the patients do well if they stick to the recommendations. Kindly see a dermatologist for a treatment plan.
