Psoriasis and hairloss related query.
Hello doctor. Its been 10 days since I have been applying tarich shampoo and topisal 3% solution 3times a week as prescribed by my dermatologist for psoriasis...today just before applying tarich,I wet my hair and ran my fingers across my hair and found 7-8 hair present on my hand...I started running my fingers around again and again(15 times approx) and found that initially l got 7-8 hair on my hand but then it reduced to 5-6 and then 3-4 and then so on.(for the 15 times I ran my fingers across my hair)...so i would like to know if this treatment is causing hair loss? Note:I didn't take a head bath yesterday and also didn't run my fingers across my hair yesterday...So today was the 1st time in 2 days I ran my fingers across my hair. Have sent some snaps of my hair.Hopefully they are helpful. Thank you

There are many reasons for hair fall. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin. Please call me or send photographs using online consult option for proper diagnosis and detailed prescription,
