Protrusion of L5-S1 disc
Hi doctors I went to an ortho as I had pain in my back, gradually extending to my leg. He advised MRI and he is recommending surgery as there is some protrusion. 1. Is it really necessary to go for surgery directly? 2. Are there no nonsurgical treatments available for this stage? 3. Is this observation critical in any aspect? 4. Will the surgery be critical and may have any side effects in future? Observation: LARGE POSTERIOR CENTRAL AND LEFT PARACENTRAL PROTRUSION OF L5-S1 DISC CAUSING COMPRESSION OF LEFT S1 ROOT I have attached my report herewith. Please respond asap. Thanks in advance

Yes pain dictates the management.. plz go for surgery and enjoy your life. Don't think too much about complications. Every small or big surgery have their own complications. Nobody is eternal on this earth
