Profound sesori neural lo
I am suffering from profound sensori neural loss in both ears with left ear worse to extent of 98%. I understand that I have mid freq loss. Presently I am using Phonak Naida Q50 BTE. However I still find it difficult to hear properly especially in noisy public places as the echo affects it. I was thinking of cochlear Implantation. Does this guarantee normal hearing? What is the failure rate? An indication of cost will help. Thanks

For bilateral profound sensory neural hearing loss in a post lingual patient when hearing aids are no longer beneficial cochlear implant is a wise option. Chances of failure are rare. The total cost , including post operative follow-ups, comes to around Rs 8 to 10 lacks.
