First it needs to be evaluated why you have receding gum and the reason needs to be eliminated.
Than a X-ray will help to judge extent of problem.
Deep cleaning is one of the basic thing that will be required.
Depending on sevearit of problem further plan like flap can be decided

Yes, a small procedure on the gums can cover the recession but x-rays will have to be taken to see bone support and condition of the teeth to determine the prognosis of the treatment and decide whether the treatment will be successful or not. In the meanwhile, routine scalings should be done to keep the guns healthy
