Pregnancy symptoms but no baby seen

My frnd is having all symptoms of pregnancy like darker areola line of nigra and abdominal stomach is betting bigger but in September she has done beta hcg test but it was negative and in August she has done abdominal ultrasound but it was normal nothing is seen so why she is suffering from this she is very worried
