Pregnancy+Goiter vs calcium supplements
Hi, I have GOITER problem (normal thyroid levels) and PCOD, for this I had taken homeopathy treatment then I got pregnancy, now 22 weeks. Now am continuing homeopathy treatment and allopathy also, allopathy doctor prescribed me calcium supplements, after 1 month of using I got pain around the goiter and enlarged, then homeopathy doc suggested me to stop taking calcium supplements, but am worrying about this if I stop taking calcium may it effect on fetal growth ?? (Anamoly scan was normal)

Hi Practo user, I can understand your concern. The  pain in goitre may be related to your calcium supplements. However it can be only confirmed once you have got some blood tests done. It is important you get tests done.
Next Steps
You can  get serum calcium, and fasting T3, T4 and TSH checked, PTH (parathyroid hormone levels checked) to confirm if it is linked to the supplements you are taking. If elevated thyroid levels they would need to he managed too.
Health Tips
Since you have been using Homeopathic meds all throughout pregnancy would suggest you to take Homeopathic meds for your body's calcium needs during pregnancy. Monitor closely thyroid levels and other markers monthly. You can follow up with us with the reports in order to evaluate them further.

Don't worry.. if you proper diet then body absorbed all the nutrition from food. No need to external supplement. Every thing in your report is normal. Don't be panic . Enjoy your maternity period. Choose only one pathy if emergency then use allopathic otherwise stay with homoeopathic medicine. Side-effects are nothing.
