Yes it's for protection of your upcoming baby. As cord cutting can cause neonatal tetnus so if mother is vaccinated then passive immunity can be transferred to the baby. So its necessary according to national immunization guidelines.
Before pregnancy 2 doses of TT vaccination required which are 4 weeks apart.
