Post Rheumatic Heart Disease Question
My brother have undergone a surgery for mitral valve replacement due to RHD 2 years ago. He's diagnosed when he's 12, and the surgery was 2 yrs ago. Doctor prescripted 250 mg of Erythromycin for him to be taken twice a day. My questions are: 1. What is the purpose of erythromycin? all I know that it's an antibiotic. 2. How long does my brother have to take the erythromycin? (he has taken it for 2 yrs now post-surgery) Thanks in advance.
