I have chronic muscular pain in different body parts since 2+ years. All scans and blood reports are normal. Doctor suspects fibro and put me on duloxetine.
But I got an allergy test done myself and found that I have dog/cat allergy where the numbers are 100 times the normal values. I don’t have a dog but have been in constant touch with a neighbour dog for about 1 year in the past around when this pain started
Is it possible that I have MCAS (Mast cell activation syndrome)?

MCAS is super rare.
Just stay away from Dogs, tbh. You'll recover soon.
As for fibromyalgia, which could be the cause of your pain, Duloxetine seems fine.
Take care.

Hlo sir,
Aapke case me:
Fibromyalgia: Chronic widespread pain, normal reports → doctor ne sahi medicine (duloxetine) di hai.
Dog/cat allergy: IgE bahut high hai iska matlab hai aap allergic ho, jisse fatigue/sleep disturb ho sakti hai aur pain aur badh sakta hai.
MCAS: Usually hota hai jab bar-bar flushing, itching, hives, BP drop, fast heartbeat ya anaphylaxis jaisi episodes ho. Sirf chronic pain se MCAS nahi hota.
Matlab: Ye fibromyalgia + allergy aggravated pain lag raha hai, MCAS kam possibility hai.
Solution: Dog exposure kam karo, allergy meds doctor se discuss karo, fibro management continue rakho.
I hope this helps u. Thanku 😊
See, here you are talking about a rare disease which is very unlikely to affect you.
Shift your focus from the allergy test and emphasize details like you travel history, food habits, sleep history, other symptoms, family history and also get a vitamin test done for D3 and B12
Need few more details for proper understanding of your issue.
You can consult with me online on Practo or whatsapp on eight three one eight four six nine eight eight six for proper diagnosis, conclusion and management
you mainly have chronic muscle pain without those systemic allergy episodes, fibromyalgia is more likely than MCAS.
Your high dog/cat allergy may worsen inflammation but usually doesn’t cause widespread pain alone.

I understand your concern. Mast cell activation syndrome is rare and usually presents with repeated episodes of allergic-type symptoms such as flushing, itching, swelling, abdominal issues, or low blood pressure, rather than only chronic muscle pain. Your high allergy test values suggest you are sensitized to dog or cat proteins, but this does not necessarily cause fibromyalgia-like pain. Long-term muscle pain with normal scans and blood tests is more consistent with fibromyalgia, which is why duloxetine was started. If you have frequent allergy-type symptoms along with pain, you can discuss this further with an allergist.
Hello, I understand your concern. Let me clarify a few things:
Fibromyalgia is a common cause of chronic widespread pain when scans and blood tests are normal. That is why your doctor has started you on duloxetine, which is a standard treatment.
Allergy test results show sensitization (your immune system reacts strongly), but this usually causes allergic symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, asthma, or skin rashes—not chronic muscular pain.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is rare and typically presents with repeated episodes of allergy-like symptoms (flushing, swelling, low blood pressure, abdominal pain, rashes), not just chronic muscle pain.
Next Steps
Based on your description, allergies or MCAS are very unlikely to explain your muscle pain. Fibromyalgia remains the most likely diagnosis, and your doctor’s treatment approach is correct.
Health Tips
That said, if you develop symptoms like repeated hives, flushing, swelling, or severe allergic reactions, then further evaluation for mast cell–related disorders may be needed.
Keep yourself in other place where no such animals found one i heard is Nagaland.
Bhai in India allergen test is not at all work.
For mcas you need superspecialist like MD physician dermatologist.
Muscle pains are usually not caused by dog/cat allergy or mast cell activation. The allergy test mainly explains problems like sneezing, nasal or skin issues. Since your reports are otherwise normal, fibromyalgia is still a possibility.
To guide you better, I’ll need to go through your reports and symptoms in detail.
Health Tips
“Try to note if you get any allergy-related symptoms (sneezing, blocked nose, breathing issues) when around pets — this will help us during consultation.”
Hello Sir, welcome to this platform.
As I can see you don’t have any symptoms related to MCAS.
The allergy test which u have done it can be from so many things , and in your case it might be from Cat and Dog hairs allergy possibly.
The chronic muscle pain can be due to other reasons , such as Anemia, Fibromyalgia, Chronic stress, Anxiety, More physical strenuous activity, or any underlying muscular disorder.
