Positive Mantoux test 10UT
My mother had gone through TB tests recently. TB - PLATINUM (IGRA) Gamma interferon T was found negative. Sample type was Lithium Heparin. HCV ANTIBODY (Hepatitis C Virus), HIV 1 & 2 ANTIBODY and HBsAg were also found negative. Sample type was serum and method was ECLIA. However, MANTOUX TEST 10UT was found positive. Erythema was present and induration was measured as 20mm. I want to understand the concerns here. What measures I should take for my mother. Is it latent TB infection or Active TB disease? Also please suggest proper measures to be done as I am really concerned for my mother. Thanks in advance!

No need to worry.  Mountex is positive in most of the Indians. Only montox  positive does Not indicate T.B.
