Polyhydramnios
I am on my 37th week, until previous scan I had normal AFI. Last week scan shows a surge in AFI level of 27. Sugar was tested and it is normal. Initial scans had mild pylectasia, but it was cleared in the last week scan. So the high AFI of 27 is worrying me now. What could be the reason? I have a complete obstetrics scan tmrw. But I am worried as this is my first pregnancy.

No need to worry . Most kidney problems  settle down after birth, in case it persists then the pediatric nephrologists who are very competent  these days can deal with the problem. And if the situation is alarming and head not fixed ,the gynecologist  will discuss with the pediatrician  and induce for delivery or go ahead with c section . Of course infection profile will be done to rule out infections if there are any. The gynecologist will know as to what precautions to take while conducting the delivery . Rest is required and please do breathing exercises  ,also keep a count on the movements of the baby.
