There is no need for any operations. The effects of polycystic ovaries can be acne, excess facial hair, excess weight gain, irregular periods, scanty flow during periods, difficulty in getting pregnant and diabetes during pregnancy called gestational diabetes or diabetes at an early age. If your wife is over weight she needs to reduce her weight and keep up a regular dietary and exercise regime. Treatment depends on the symptoms or complaint she has as of now.
