Tobacco is not the only reason for deposits and discoloration of the teeth. Tea and coffee as well as other colouring agents used in food like turmeric can be responsible for same. These hard deposits are called as calculus and the accumulate over a long period of time due to inefficient removal of plaque. They cannot be removed by toothbrushing and will require scaling by dentist. Please understand that scaling will remove the deposits "ON" the teeth and bring back your original smile in terms of your natural tooth shade. It is not going to bleach your teeth or make them any whiter. One of the important reasons for more plaque accumulation in your case can be the malalignment of teeth which can also not be corrected by scaling. You can search for a dentist in your vicinity using Practo and book an appointment for scaling. Regards.
