Pilonidal sinus - flap operation is excision of the tissue with the sinus tract and then placing a part of the skin with the underlying tissues over the bare area then suturing it so usually it's the most followed surgery for pilonidal sinus. Laser surgery - its painless , less time consuming but recurrence is little more Costs almost equal

For pilonidal sinus, the tract and the sinus excision (surgical removal) should be done. Usually primary closure can be done if the tract is small, for this the recovery will be 7-10days. Flap repair is done when the tract is large with multiple sinuses. The cost difference will not be much for both the procedures, but the recovery and post operative care will be different.

Best would be to go ahead with the surgery(flap) as it gives the best success rate. Recovery is usually 2 weeks and after that she can resume most of her normal activities. Workouts can be started 5-6 weeks following surgery.

Pilonidal sinus can be done as flap surgery..traditional method..but post operative care must be more and recovery late Flap survival should be checked for... Arogyasree available for the above Laser is one with just few minutes procedure and not needed much post op care.just recurrence must be watched carefully But no Arogyasree for this and costs more than open flap procedure..
