Straining at stool is certainly a contributing factor for developing piles,in addition to a genetic tendency. Avoid constipation with high fibre diet -lots of fruits and vegetables ,drink plenty of water and exercise, at least 45-60 min daily .Milled white rice is poor source of fibre .You will benefit from high fibre alternatives like brow rice,Parboiled rice or millets.
