I have grade 3 internal hemorrhoids as checked by the Gastroenterologist. He said it requires stapler surgery. But after weighing the pros and cons I have decided to go for a rubber band ligation procedure. I will soon visit a Gastroenterologist to discuss regarding the same. My question is, whether I can join to a gym for weight lifting and continue my gym life after having a rubber band ligation procedure or hemorrhoidectomy?

Yes , you can . However you will have to avoid weight lifting in the immediate post -operative period for at least two weeks . Then you can gym or weight lift as earlier . However you should avoid getting constipated and use a laxative regularly . Also you should remember that your body has this tendency to form piles for multiple of reasons . Abdominal pressure and straining is one of the implicated factors . Hence it might help if you modify your exercise regime so as to not do exercise that directly require abdominal straining . A gym instructor can help you with that . And also remember that piles can recur after a well done surgery also .
