Phlegm cough
Have been having phlegm cough for past week and half. I tried dosage of ciprofloxacin 500mg tabs for 3 days and also Levoday 500 prescribed by another doctor...also took syrups Mucoline and Ascoril after that...No benefit. The phlegm is of white colour. Can an ENT help?

You seem to be having residual cough from a recent upper respiratory infection. Cough syrups will be of limited help in these kind of situations. Steam inhalation 3-4 times per day along with Ascoril-D should help. Remember that cough is a protective response to clear respiratory secretions which increase during an infection and as such is a protective mechanism. Even if it lasts for a week or two, there is no need to be concerned unless it is so severe to affect your sleep or cause pain in ribs. Hope this helps.
