Phantom limb is a appreciation of limb being there in an amputee , it's a common problem when an active patient undergoes amputation . Some patients will also experience severe pain at times . This happens because your physical absence of leg is not read by brain , it still thinks leg is there .so this is more a psychological issue rather than a physical issue .
Next Steps
medical treatment and counselling helps and needs a psychiatry consultation
Health Tips
let him use good prosthesis regularly which should make him better also support from family that this is not abnormal will happen to most of the amputees
