My mother has got her periods 4 years post menopause, she was feeling like it & consulted a doctor she said she won't get it and gave some medicines stating some hormonal issues however she got it yesterday.
What could be the reason for it?

It is not normal to get periods after menopause. Please get your mother tested at the earliest . Couple of tests include Pap smear, cervical biopsy and endometrial biopsy . It could be a hormonal cause as well . But at her age it’s always safer and wiser to rule out malignancy with regular testing and monitoring . Kindly visit your nearest gynaecologist at the earliest for further investigations and management
