Withdrawal bleeding after an emergency contraceptive pill usually starts within a few days and can run up to two or three weeks. Day five is still within the normal range, especially if the flow is lighter than your usual period.
Next Steps
If the bleeding is heavier than normal, lasts beyond two weeks, or your next period doesn't arrive on time, take a home pregnancy test and see a gynaecologist. This pill isn't always fully effective.
Health Tips
Go in sooner if you're soaking through pads fast, feel dizzy, or get one-sided lower belly pain.
