PCOS - polycystic ovaries
I have irregular periods since it is starts. It is started in 18 age. I got married last year in march. Me n my husbnd going to plan baby soon. I went 2 gynecologist before 3 months ago n had blood tests n ultrasound, pep test. Now doctor told us that i have PCOS becoz of this i hve high insulin, than doc prescribed me metformin 500 mg n sprionolactone 25 mg n also prescribed or hving regular periods birth control pills. Now i want 2 know is this the right treatment or is there any other way out. Please help me out.

You have been treated properly... Insulin resistance is thought to be due to increased weight...so with medication fallow bellow advices as well. You should decrease carbohydrate intake, take foods made-up of whole grains like whole wheat bread, Decrease fat intake and increase protein content. Take high fiber diet, fruits, vegetables but avoid starchy vegetables like potatoes. Take plenty of water avoid sugar drinks....good luck.
