It is a lower pole fracture patella ( Avulsion type of Injury).
You can get a screw fixed to counter patella tendon pull and get rehabilitated earlier.
Conservative treatment need 4-6 weeks of cast application which is lengthy and should be avoided.

If you can lift the leg with knee straight and not being bent (SLR) from the bed you do not need any surgery but if you can't then you need surgery. Normally these fractures should heal on their own without any surgery
