I had an injury on my leg while falling down and after stopped bleeding on my injury, I stopped caring about it and the outer layer of the wound formed a dry Scab and it has been two weeks since that event. Now accidentally that scab partially peeled which causes me severe pain than that pain I felt during the day when I got hurt. The scab is still attached and if I try to remove it causes severe pain. Can't wear even a chappal. Kindly help so that my wound heals sooner and that dry Scab completely falls away...
I have attached that picture. Since I applied Mupirocin, it looks oily...

As long as you don't have worsening pain, redness in the surrounding area and oozing, you don't need to be concerned. The scan may need another week or two, to fall off on its own

Based on the history and the photo, this appears to be a healing superficial wound with a hard, partially detached scab. When a scab dries and adheres tightly to the underlying healing tissue, any partial peeling can expose sensitive new skin and nerve endings, which explains why the pain now feels much more severe than at the time of injury. This is a common and expected phenomenon and does not mean the wound is worsening, provided there is no spreading redness, pus, foul discharge, or fever.
The most important point is do not forcibly remove the scab. Forceful removal can reopen the wound, delay healing, increase pain, and raise the risk of infection and scarring. Instead, the goal is to keep the wound moist and protected so that the scab softens and separates naturally. Continue gentle daily cleaning with clean water or saline, then apply a thin layer of antibiotic ointment (like mupirocin) or plain petroleum jelly, and cover it with a non-stick dressing. This will reduce friction, pain, and allow you to walk comfortably.
Avoid chappal friction directly over the wound; use soft footwear or padding until pain reduces. Healing may take another 7–10 days, after which the scab should fall off on its own without pain.
Next Steps
Seek medical review if you notice increasing redness, swelling, warmth, pus discharge, worsening pain, or fever, which could suggest infection. Otherwise, with proper local care and patience, this wound should heal well without complications.
