Pls dont worry about the osteophytes untill & unless its give you pain,its our bodies natural age related changes..but if you do regular exercise ,spinal mobilisation , stretchings of back muscles, the progression of osteophytes will surely diminish.
You need to take care few more things for exaggerated lumber curvature - abdominal exercises ,postural corrections with visual feedback, pelvic tilting exercises etc..
