I was injured back in April in my left shulder. Is it normal for a Dr to stick you with a cortizone shot with out imaging. Im asking because I have been in exreame pain for over a week.

Yes it is a very common practice. And moreover the injection is guided clinically by palpation so no major need of imaging is required as shoulder is a large joint.
Health Tips
Use of imaging is always better and should be done  but there are always financial and availability issues.
