Pain in tooth on cold
Pain in tooth on cold. But normal on hot. The tooth with pain has a cap at it. X-ray does not show any decay or germs.

Was the tooth root canal treated before the cap was placed on it???? if not then most likely this tooth will require root canal treatment soon..... if already RCT has been done, hot and cold sensations cannot be present...... Re infection can occur which can cause pain but not hot or cold sensitivity..... better suggestions can be given after having a look at the X-ray..... Regards.....

Is the tooth root canal treated? What was the reason for putting cap? If not rootcanal treated then tooth will go for that treatment as due to hear generated while cutting the tooth for cap plus original trauma plus cement to place cap ; they all affect inside nerves and make them die slowly hence the symptoms. If root canal treated then either its not done properly or there could be extra hidden canal which was missed while treatment. Visit an endosontist  and get it treated.  Tc
