From last few days my husband is having slight pain in his throat.. Feeling of a lump is there...and swallowing saliva was a lil uneasy. We contacted a gastroenterologist. He gave him Allegra and antacids bt dat dint help...Shud v consult an ENT.n wat tests cn v get done.Hope nothing is cancerous.v are really worried

Hi, in upper respiratory tract infection or throat infection: throat pain, caugh,fever, difficulty in swallowing and swelling of cervical lymph nodes, are the common symptoms. You can take antibiotics if it is urti. lump in front of neck may be present in cases of thyroid problems like hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, noncancerous lumps etc. Go for cbc urine routine, thyroid harmones tests,thyroid scan, consult general surgeon or ENT surgeon for furthur evaluation and treatment.
