I have a pain in my right jaws (in and around right ear), this pains a lot during night sleep and in the morning while getting up. Whichever side I sleep, I get pain. It reduces to some extent during the day. I also find it difficult to wide open my mouth. I have consulted doctors and they suggested pain killers for 3-5 days, however pain has not reduced. Note, I don't have habit of teeth grinding during sleep.
For few weeks, I did hot and cold treatment in the morning and night.
One of the doctors, prescribed Tab-DEFSEAS 1-0-1 (5 days), Tab-MYOTOP 150 1-0-1 (5days) and Tab-ACELARA 1-0-1(2days). Pain slightly reduced during meditation, but it's coming back.
What is the reason of this pain. What should I do? Please suggest whether this is to be treated by ENT or by any other doctor.
Thank you

Looks like TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Disorder. It can be caused by teeth grinding (bruxism), jaw clenching, dental issues, arthritis, jaw injury, or stress-related habits. It may lead to jaw pain, clicking sounds, or difficulty opening the mouth.
Next Steps
Ent and dental evaluation needed..consult ENT and Dentist.
Health Tips
lifestyle changes (avoiding hard foods, reducing stress), jaw exercises, physiotherapy, splints/night guards, and medications for pain relief.

Hi, I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat MS ENT.
Hello, based on the image and your detailed description, it appears that you may be suffering from Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ/TMD). This condition commonly causes pain in the jaw and around the ear, especially during sleep or early morning, and often makes it difficult to open the mouth wide. Even though you do not have a habit of teeth grinding, subtle jaw clenching, poor sleep posture, or stress can still lead to TMJ dysfunction.
The medications you were prescribed — Deflazacort (DEFSEAS), Tolperisone (MYOTOP 150), and Aceclofenac (ACELARA) — are appropriate for short-term pain relief and muscle relaxation. However, since the pain has only reduced temporarily and tends to return, a more focused approach is needed.
Next Steps
You are advised to consult an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon or a Dental TMJ Specialist, as they are best suited to evaluate and treat this condition.
Health Tips
I recommend that you seek specialist care soon to prevent chronic pain and functional issues.
