  4. Pain in breast. Please help.

Pain in breast
Since yesterday feeling pain in my left breast.... There is redness also... The area is hard... The milk supply has reduced from the affected breast.... Doing hot water massage continually... PLEASE HELP...

Seems like breast engorgement .......freq breast feeding every 2-3hrly, try latch > 20min each time, express out a little milk before each feed, hot compress before starting baby feeding can help your let down reflex, massage your breast while feeding, cold compresses after each feed & stop Top feed if giving to the baby

Hi there . This is a common problem with nursing mothers as they develop injury due to babies feeding. Continue hot water fomentation, remove as much milk using a breast pump or by hand squeeze till Brest softens. Maintain by decompressing at regular intervals Continue feeding the baby in proper position , if it is manageable. If fever starts of lump doesn't regress , you have to see you Obstetrician . Hope it resolves.
