Intralesional injections is one of the treatment modalities of osmf. The others include surgical splitting of the fibrous bands and oral antioxidant therapy. But please understand that none of these modalities has shown 100% Success rate. The best treatment option is selected based on the judgement of the dentist who has clinically examined your case and after evaluating the pros and cons of each treatment modality in every patient depending upon the grade of osmf. At the same time it is highly imperative that the causative etiology of osmf in your case has to be outlined and eliminated immediately. The practical suggestion would be for you to go for the suggested treatment option after complete discussion with your dentist but don't expect changes such as 45m mouth opening immediately.
